It is important that you find someone who suits you well. The first meeting is an opportunity for you to find out how it feels to talk to me and to explore how we might work together. There is no obligation or pressure to continue. I want you to find an effective therapist for you - and if that is not me, I would like to help you find a "good fit" with someone else. I am happy to answer your questions about my training, experience, ways of working and to consider with you any concerns or dilemmas you might have about therapy.

When life becomes difficult, it is easy to focus on what does not work. Therapy can help you to re-engage with your strengths and use them to help you navigate the difficult. Often there is a "split" inside us. We believe that we can do this - but not that. We can face this - but not that. As we gradually tease apart the roots of these beliefs, we can find ways that strengths in one area of our life can move across to help us in other areas. The solution to our problems can often be found within us. Sometimes we just need to do a little more digging.
